It's quite hard work giving reputation out; you must give to a certain number of people (let's say 10) before you can give it back to the first person again. I understand the need for such a restriction, but it gets in the way when there are usually only 3 or 4 people who make posts worth reputing..
At codeguru i think we solved this with a time limit as well as the spread minimum, so while i cannot repeatedly rate JohnH's posts, i can re-rate them every 3 days or so.
At the moment, i would have to jsut rate some random posts, regardless of whether they are good or not, jsut to spread enough rep that I can get back to giving it to those deserving.
Has anyone poured any thought into this issue?
