reporting from a selection form

reporting from selectionson another form

can anyone tell me how to run a report on what I selected on a otherform.
I can get a report from the datbase it self, but I think I have to make a query before I go to the report?

I'm just starting with vb.net, but every combobox just fills fine the way I want it, but how do I export these selection criteria onto the report?

Example workflow :you select the report type; date to start and date to end; username; door.
and then it should report back the times that the user went in and out that selected door, between those dates.

I'm using crystal reports.

Does this make sense?
