Job Description:

The .NET Developer is fundamentally a .NET programmer/analyst in IT with a superior ability to quickly grasp end-user business requirements, and design solutions and/or enhancements to existing systems that meet business requirements. Furthermore, the .NET Developer is responsible of ensuring long-term flexibility, scalability, and performance. The .NET Developer participates in the documenting, building, testing, debugging, and deployment of solutions.

The basic purpose of the .NET Developer is to design, implement and maintain software systems using .NET, Visual Basic, and PL/SQL.

Solutions may include (but are not limited to) applications, components, scripts, technical reports and/or documents, SQL queries, setup and/or configuration of software.

Responsibilities:
- Write, test, debug, maintain, document, and deploy .NET components and applications using a variety of tools including Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Write, test, debug, maintain, document, and deploy SQL statements, scripts, PL/SQL blocks, triggers, stored procedures, and applications using a variety of tools in a variety of environments.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Participate in team knowledge sharing sessions, training sessions, seminars.
- Prepare and deliver occasional presentations or demonstrations.
- Prepare and execute test scripts, document and discuss results.
- Prepare status reports and documents.
- Investigate and fix bugs, defects, data issues, etc.
- Participate in departmental cross-training exercises.
- Perform routine maintenance and/or support operations.
- Write technical design documents from functional specifications for small projects.
- Be able to quickly answer questions regarding functionality and/or features of existing applications and/or scripts.
- Provide accurate estimates from functional specifications.
- Provide mentoring/support for members of the development team.
- Initiate knowledge sharing exercises.
- Close projects and conduct project debriefs, lessons learned, post-mortems.
- Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Diploma, equivalent degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of software development experience using the .NET framework.
- Prior experience in creating E-Commerce Websites and Web Applications is a must.
- Advanced knowledge in C#, ASP.Net, and .Net 2.0
- Advanced knowledge in Transact-SQL and PL/SQL a must
- Minimum 1 year working experience in Oracle 10g and SQL Server 2005
- Basic understanding of Relational Database Design including Primary Keys, Foreign Keys, Normalization;
- Proficiency with a Revision Control System such as Visual SourceSafe.
- Familiar with a Defect/Bug Tracking System such as Test Track.
- Successful participation in a significantly sized team-based project.
- Capable of reading and interpreting and creating database diagrams using ERD and UML notation;
- Understanding of OO methodologies.
