How to Recieve mail using .net

Hi,
I am Bobby.
I want to develop an application which receives mails from an smpt server.
I know how to send a mail. But with respect to receiving mails...
I have no idea where to start...
So i am looking for some help on how to write a code to receive mails...

It seems like you want to create an email client. Well to be honest it is brave step especially if you want it to be made without an adequate activeX object(s).
Btw, may i ask you which type of email client you want to make? http mail client, a POP3 client or an IMAP client ... or something else ???
