Hi Guys,

I have a webform and there are 20 fileds on it. If i enter "ID" in one of the field
then hit the find button, i want to populate the data in rest of the fields. all the data is
coming from one table

Id is "tbid" table name is "tabcon". if i enter the "tbid" in the field and then click "find"
button then it should populate the data in rest of the fields. can you guys help me with code(vb.net).
Thanks,

Hi saidev,

One way to do that is using datasets..

VB.NET:
PrivateSub FillTheFields()
Dim objConn As SqlConnection = New SqlConnection("your connection string")
Dim objCmd As SqlCommand = New SqlCommand
objCmd.Connection = objConn
objCmd.CommandText = "Select * from tabcon where tbid = " + txtId.Text
Dim objda As SqlDataAdapter = New SqlDataAdapter(objCmd)
Dim objds As DataSet = New DataSet
objda.Fill(objds, "tabcon")
If objds.Tables("tabcon").Rows.Count > 0 Then
txtYorField1.Text = objds.Tables("tabcon").Rows(0)("YourField1")
txtYorField2.Text = objds.Tables("tabcon").Rows(0)("YourField2")
..................
EndIf

VB.NET:
PrivateSub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
FillTheFields()
EndSub

Use try catch and required validations
