Where is that code exactly? I guess we assume that it's in the FormClosing event handler. Is that all that's in that event handler? How exactly was the form closed in the first place?

I can't see any obvious reason that that should happen. I would recommend creating a new test form and/or test project and see if it behaves the way you expect.
