Custom ribbon deployment - single .docm file

Hi,

This is probably a terribly basic question, so apologies in advance.

I'd like deploy some Word customisations by creating a .docm template and putting it in the STARTUP folder for a few people.

The .docm file should include building blocks, macros and ribbon customisations.

My question relates to the ribbon customisations.

I have used Visual Studio 2022 to create a Word VSTO Template with ribbon customisations. But Visual Studio creates multiple files - not a single .docm file that I can just copy and paste into STARTUP folders.

Is there a way for me to consolidate all of my ribbon customisations into the .docm file? Or have I used the wrong software for this and should I be using something other than Visual Studio?

It seems a VSTO must be installed on each PC that needs to use it and cannot be embedded in a macro-enabled Word document Deploying a VSTO Solution Using Windows Installer.

If it were me, I'd take this route; either complete the entire thing using VBA or a use a template (.dot) (Word Add-ins - Creating) and add that to your .docm (AddIn object (Word)) to replace the VSTO you did.
