XP Like effect in my project without using .manifest file

Hi !
There is a problem in my project. I want to use XP effects in my project.
I added a manifest file for XP effects but these effects are not shown when i watch my project in other Operating System like Win98, Win NT, or Windows 2000.
Is there another way to make my project look and feel like XP without using of manifest file.

Please give your response as quick as possible.

Using the manifest method, whether you embed it in the exe file or not, the XP style will not appear in Windows others than XP. The needed dll only comes with XP. I've read a post somewhere else by jmcilhinney about this Skybound product which you can take a look. It is free, but I haven't used it yet...
