Winsock in VB.Net 2003? Where and How

PLEASE,
can you post a tutorial how to configure a client server based chat in VB.Net.
I have used the VB6 Winsock before, but now i have to proceed to VB.Net 2003.

This is for an assignment in uni and i really cant find any helpful tutorials (looking for 2 days now)
