Question Windows Services and the Application Event Log

I want to get everyones thoughts and opinions to the following question:

Is it true that for windows services we create in VB.NET, their basic events like Start, Stop and Errors are automatically recorded in the Application Event Log?

The Service Control Manager records stops and starts.. errors, I'm not sure if detail is recorded, you may find that hthe SCM simply says "XXService has stopped unexpectedly, it has done thins Y times. The following action will be taken in Z seconds: Restart the service"

Yes, they are automatically recorded, but you can change his behavior in the service properties, use AutoLog property.
