Textbox in Taskbar or Quicklaunch?

I mostly develop for the web so I am not well versed on the Windows Forms classes. Could someone point me to the area I should be looking at in order to add controls to either the Quicklaunch or the Taskbar?


I want to have a textbox that accepts a value located in the taskbar area. Submitting (by hitting enter) executes a batch file with the value from the textbox added as a parameter. Alteratively this could be located in the startmenu like the Search box in Vista.

Can this be done? Any help is appreciated.

I haven't personally done this but I would Google for Desk Bands as a starting point.

Thanks- that's a great start. I have never heard that term before. All my Googling was turning up very little.
