Problem is the application closes with me.close. Why? How can I close only the login form and leave the main form urnning???

thx

go to the solution(your project's) properties, then change the "Shutdown Mode" to "When last form closes". Should solve your problem...

Another popular approach is to have the main form as startup form, and show the login dialog from the applications Startup event. This event is also cancelable, and can be used if login fails.

Resolved.

P.S. - hmmm, I would have marked as resolved but could not find that option. I would have edited my post and changed the subject to 'Resolved:' but could not find that option. thx for the replies all.
