means of generating reports

Dear all,

I'm new to vb.net and am desperately looking for a means of generating reports. Does anyone know if I can build in reporting functionality using crystal reports without having to install the software on those systems using the final product (executable file).

I would suggest using SQL Server Reporting Services. You can add client reports directly to your project and deploy them and the ReportViewer control with your app. I don't use CR but I think that it does require some component installation, although not necessarily a paid-for component.
