MDI child sharing a parent with a Treeview

ok,

basically i have 2 forms a Parent consisting of a menu strip and a treeview on the left hand side, and a child form with currently just a lable on it. when i activate the child form, it apprears, with as many instances as i want of it, which is perfect, however, the problem is as follows:

the treeview doesn't count as being docked, (even tho it is) and the child windows are able to be moved behind it, and in some cases, appear behind it, if the child window is maximised, the entire lefthand side of the child window is covered by my treeview

if anyone could tell me where i'm going wrong, or how to fix this, i would be very appreciative.

nm, i worked it out, yay for spending 5 hours trying everything, then the simplest thing works :/
