Loging in and exiting login page

Hi everybody! I am new to building web pages and need help with the web page i am building. i have "links" on it using html elements eg:[a href='www.gotoPage2....com]. how do i use the same browser or close it and open a new one for the linked page? btw i am using visual studio/vb.net can i code it in aspx.vb code using webcontrol hyperlinks? Thanks in advance...

You can use java like: window.open("Page.aspx", "Name", Features)
Features are: width, height, scrollbars ...
Just put this java in href.
