item select works onclick NOT in sub

Im using vb express and trying to select all item in a listview.

I have a mainform in which i load another form in a panel (panel 2 in splitcontainer)

It works when I use a button on form2:

now I want to do the same, but instead of using a button on form2 I use a button on the mainform and call the sub in form2

This item select code refuses to select all item in the listview.
IN the immediate window ?me.lstview.ites.count =0

Im confused
can someone tell me what I.m doing wrong

Are you using .net 1.1 or 2.0. In 1.1 you need to an object reference to form2 in order to run that sub routine. In 2.0 you need to do the same or at least call the form2 directly depending on how you use it.

Let me know if I am off course with this but it just looks like a calling issue.
