I am looking for direction and lets face it a lot of help. I am new to this.
I wish to create a Window Service that will read a mdb attachment sent (by email) from Access 2003. We have sales people that go out to the stores and place orders for filling the shelves. They will fill out the order forms using access. Once complete the sales person will email the order. The window service needs to pick up the email read the attachment and then send it to the Sql server to be stored and then processed through a program currently in use.
I am at a lost for understanding. I know what it needs to do, but I do not understand how to do it. Currently the service being used is reading an excel form that is emailed by the sales person. Why the change? NOt sure, they just want better and access allows more. And since it would be transfering data from one database to SQL there is thought of easier flow.
Any help in the right direction would be appreciated.
