color change onMouseHover

hi all.. i was wondering whether anyone has advice on how to turn off the color change on the menustrip object at each onMouseHover event, it seems to be a feature of all microsoft gui objects and I cannot believe it can't be disabled simply, i'm probably not seeing the forest for the trees but being pointed in the right direction would be greatly appriciated

you want to disable the selection highlight of a menu? i.e. violate a premise that has held in windows gui since it first began? i'd love to know why.. it's poor hci, imho..
