cannot retrieve schema information for table

i have a problem that whenever i try to add a data source (mysql) it tells mt the

cannot retrieve schema information for table blah blah


it can see the database and all the tables it just wont retrieve them hence not completing the wizard,
i have tried hardcoding an it displays, i just would like to use the wizard because it saves me any more of the coding , it may be something stupid im forgetting like a setting
an help would be appreciated

Can you browse your database from within visual studio 2005.
what connectionstring you use.
Try using ODBC connection like:
ConnStr = "Driver={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};" +
"Server=localhost;Database=test;uid=root;pwd=yourpwd;option=3";
