Audio Device Manager

I have two sound cards installed. I am trying to create a progy to sit next to the clock, that when I click on it it will switch the card that is being used. I can't seem to find any code samples or examples that show how to manipulate the sound device. Can anyone help?

I have done some googling on this, and it appears that it is not possible (from what I found)....

...but if anyone knows differently, please say, as I would like to know how to do this aswell.
