Question Why is there no intellisense in new program file?

I am creating an asp web application as a learning experience in Visual studio 2008. I added a folder named App_Code to the project. Then added a class to the folder but when I enter the "Imports system.", there is no intellisense after the period. In my search for answers any help if greatly appreciated. Thanks.
