why doesn't my application setting's connectionstring show up on list of available?

when attempting to create a new table adapter in a dataset, step one is "choose an existing connectionstring" - why oh why doesn't my connectionstring which i have set in "settings" show up??
it always has in the past
i have a connectionstring set up as a connectionstring with scope of "application"

anyone know why?

No idea why, but I wouldnt even worry about it.. just make another one (a new one with dummy details) then go into settings and copy the string itself from the old to the new, then delete the old
