Question Which langauge for instrument player?

I am going to be writing a program that uses an eight note playable scale by use of a step sequencer and scale chooser. Which language would be best suited to write this in? I'm leaning towards C#. I'm studying JAVA, C#, VB.NET, and ASP.NET, as well as the .NET environment. Obviously object oriented is what I'm going for. Any suggestions are welcome too. Thanks.
