Sr. .NET Software Engineer

General Job Summary

Kelley Blue Book provides automotive information solutions to consumers, automobile dealers, manufacturers, and other partners. The Sr. Software Engineer will work within the Hardware/Software Services team to develop a new (ASP) Application Service Provider product serving the dealer, government, finance and insurance communities utilizing the Microsoft .NET platform and Microsoft technologies.

Job Responsibilities

This position will apply full lifecycle (SDLC) best practices as implemented in the SCRUM agile development methodology. As a key member of a SCRUM team, the position will be integral in requirements analysis, system design, code development, testing, support and have daily interactions with Enterprise Architects, Quality Assurance Analysts & Business Users. Must have great communication skills, work well in a team environment, enjoy solving complex problems and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
In summary, the responsibilities of this position are as follows:

Requirements analysis participation
Assessing and providing estimates to determine the work effort and estimate the necessary time-to-completion
Systems design participation
Software development utilizing the .NET framework in C#
Test case and scenario scripting and execution
Participating in data builds and deployment efforts
Daily interfaces with Business Users, Solutions Architects, Quality Analysts, Project Management & Supervisor

Required Skills, Attributes & Education

Minimum 8 years industry experience in Software Engineering, meeting deadlines, and performing software development duties in a MS-platform with direct exposure to high-availability, high-transaction-rate web-development environment(s).
3+ years, expert-level programming skills in C#, ASP.NET, HTML/javascript, and ADO.NET
5+ years, expert-level in object-oriented design and development principles within the .NET framework.
3+ years, strong experience with XML, XSL, XSLT.
3+ years, strong experience using SQL Server in application development.
Demonstrated experiencing with Web Services.
High level of business application literacy with spreadsheets, word processing and database software and/or business systems (Word, Access, Excel, Visio, Project, and other software).
Experience developing solutions using Agile Processes (SCRUM, or Extreme Programming)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Engineering.
