Serial Communication - data unreadable

hi all,

i'm building a program to capture data send from RS-232(keypad). im using charon communication for .net in building the program. when i try to extract the data send through rs-232 the data come out as garbage data like this

my question is how to change the output to a readable one? is it got to do with the hardware that i'ev been using?
