read a file from remote machine

Hi all

I am unable to read a file from remote machine using vb.net application, is this the problem with permission, or i have to add this application as a trusted one?

Any potential answer is going to need more information..I see your primary platform is 03, is that what this app is going to be in?

Where is the remote machine? Internal network? Internet? Do you have authorized access to that machine?

Anymore detail you can provide might help in getting an answer for you.

Also, show us the code you're using and tell us what error message you are receiving. If the eror message says "Unauthorized Access" then it's a fair chance that it's a permissions issue, but if it says "Specified file does not exist" then it's a fair chance the file doesn't exist. Error messages are provided as a diagnostic tool so don't ignore them.
