I am facing a typical problem the description is as follows :-
I am using Install Sheild 12 for packaging my DOT NET 2.0 application and it is user responsibility to install framework 2.0 before installing our application(even we can package it but we are not doing right now).
So, user first install framework 2.0 and then install our application. Except Windows 2003 server, in all other OS's application installation will take only 2 or 3 minutes. In 2003, its taking around 20-30 minutes(strucking at one point for 15 mins) for Installing/Uninstalling/Upgrading application. This is happening only when framework is already there is system.
I have tried to figure out the problem and observed some pointers. those are, application Installation/Uninstallation/Upgradation will struck at one point for more than 15 mins and I have obseved "dotnetinstaller.exe" is running in process list. after 15 mins this process was terminated and then installation will take 1 or 2 mins.
we observed this problem in windows 2003 server only....
Can any one help to fix this problem. this is very urgent issue...
one more question is what is "dotnetinstaller.exe"?
