Internet chat room

I am relatively new to Visual Basic. I am trying to create a MUD. I can easily create the game code; I've already created a fairly complex RPG before. I just need to know how to connect to the Internet, and make sort of like a Chatroom. Does anyone know how to make a chatroom using visual basic?

so does no one know? is it even possible to create a chatroom with VB?

It is possible but with VB and JavaScript or VB and Flash ... with only VB it looks odd with the refreshing if you know what i mean (it is server-side code so it has to be sended to the server and back in order to display the new msg(s). ...right?)
