Installation Issue - Vb2008

I've recently tried downloading & installing Visual Basic 2008 Express. The download seemed to go OK, but the install got hung up at installing the Net Framework (3.5). At this point I'm wondering if the improvements or changes that were made in VB2008 or the Net Framework 3.5 are worth the trouble trying to resolve this installation issue. After all, I'm reasonably content with VS2005. I do programming on a personal scale ~~~ This is not my profession. Anybody able to expound on the differences between VS2005 & VB2008 or Framework versions 2.0 & 3.5 ???

Too many improvements to list in any reasonable amount of time. LINQ is a huge plus, WCF, WPR, not to mention the improvements with the table adapters. My favorite is the clickonce signing fix, where it won't error out after one year (if you use clickonce you know what i mean!).

anyway, if you have the option of going to 2008......do it! you can still program using the .net 2.0 framework in 2008 also!
