Torquay, Devon. -- April 26, 2010 — Innovasys announced today the pending availability of Document! X 2010 - the seventh version of the popular documentation authoring and build solution. Document! X 2010 extends .NET Framework documentation support to include .NET Framework 4, integration with Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010. Documentation of COM Components, SQL Server database schemas and ASP.NET Ajax Javascript is also supported, enabling complete documentation for solutions built with Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010.

Developing accurate documentation, particularly for complex components or databases has traditionally been a time consuming, costly and skills intensive task. Documentation during development can be seen as a moving target and at the end of a project developers are often immediately re-assigned to new development tasks, leaving most projects poorly documented. With Document! X, documentation can be authored, automatically built and integrated with the Visual Studio 2010 help system throughout Visual Studio 2010 design and development processes. Without requiring investment of developer resource, development teams can be provided with an accurate and up to date reference and new developers can jump the learning curve of new components and schemas.

Richard Sloggett, technical director at Innovasys, said, “Document! X 2010 makes producing documentation a natural and productive activity for developers and technical writers alike. Our Visual Authoring tools are integrated with Visual Studio 2010 and also externally; giving developers and technical writers maximum flexibility for where documentation content is authored. We are particularly excited about our comprehensive support for the new Visual Studio 2010 help format (Microsoft Help Viewer) allowing developers to effortlessly create assembly reference documentation integrated with the Visual Studio 2010 help system.”#

“Microsoft is pleased that Innovasys, a Visual Studio Industry Partner, has invested early in supporting Visual Studio 2010 and our next-generation application development platform, and is today simultaneously shipping Document! X 2010,” said Dave Mendlen, senior director of Developer Marketing at Microsoft Corp. “Products like Document! X 2010 help customers simplify their development process from design to deployment when using Microsoft products like Visual Studio 2010 and.NET Framework 4.”

Document! X is the documentation tool chosen by leading commercial component vendors including Infragistics, Telerik, Dundas, Data Dynamics, Janus Systems and Farpoint.
