how to connect to database on webserver from standalone application using vb.net

Hi Friends.. can anyone tell me with an example of how to connect "data.mdb" which is on webserver say http://mysite.com from a standalone application which is coded in vb.net....

i already have a databse file on my site and i want to synchronise it with the database on my hard drive...

can any pls help me with a example .. as soon as possible

I very much doubt that you're going to be able to connect directly to that database, particularly if you only have Web access to it. I'd say that you would have to have a Web Service on that server that you could consume in your app.
