i want to be able to hide the start bar at the bottom of the screen to make my application full screen. How do i do this?

I think he means the taskbar

kulrom's post shows ya how to have a maximized form that covers the taskbar (startbar for winxp users)

taskbar = attached image

But the code originally posted by kulrom already does this apparently

I think you misunderstand Kulrom. I don't think that the question was ever about adding, removing or hiding anything on a form in the app itself. I think the question is how to make a VB.NET form display full-screen, including covering the Windows Taskbar, which you answered with the first reply. The rest has just been clarification as to exactly what the thing is called, and its proper name is the "Taskbar".

The thing is that if you follow my suggestion (the one i provided above) you will hide nothing there you just cover it ... hidding taskbar is something else ... ani't that right? That's why i insist that it has no relation with the taskbar which as i already said i know very well what is ... btw, thanks for your clarification too ... you are giving support to people who are very profunded so showing me what the really taksbar is taking some screenshots ... well thanks for the confidence John :D lol do you really beleive that i don't know what the taskbar is ?

O, I was just reading where we went round and round bout what a startbar is and which one he was talking about. lol. I think everyone was miss-understanding each other in this thread. Not sure, but it was interesting enough and gave me a laugh. (I didn't really get a headache)
