Net Framework 1.1 apparently can't be installed where you choose to.

Can Framework 2.0 be installed where you choose to?

For example if a user is low on free space on their drive C, can

they load it to drive D:?

This is an issue with people using old and rusty stuff. They blinked

and their computer became old fashoned.

What about the compact framework?

AFAK the framework has to be installed on C: under windows/Ms .net/ There maybe a work around, but I've not heard of one.
The compact framework is for mobile devices (PDA's and such) and won't work on a computer.

I can't remember if there was a path option for the install, but for the record my Windows system drive is another drive letter than C: and the framework did install default to this drive letter, not C:.
