Defender is blocking my application

I thought I would be avoiding this issue switching from VB6 to VB.NET?
Now what??? So frustrating

I added my app to the "Allow an app through controlled Folder access" in Defender, now in VS2022, my app can't write to it's Documents folder.

My progress is going backwards
