Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer - Load Failed

Hello,

I'm working with:

-VB.Net 2005
-Windows application
-Deploying via Publish to a network share

The application in question has several reports which have been working previously. A user recently informed me that the reports were no longer coming up. This is true on the client and development machine.

During the publish deployment, I've included Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0.

Whenever I try to add or edit a Crystal Report, I know get an error with a caption of Crystal Report ActiveX Designer and a message of Failed to Load Document.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Found the problem

Thought I'd post the solution for anyone that needs it.

The problem I was having was that my initial version of the application was deployed via a setup program that used the Crystal merge modules. I did a re-write but opted to deploy using the Publish feature. Once I saw the re-write was working well, I uninstalled the initial program. This uninstall removed the program, but also some key Crystal files, including crqe.dll, the Crystal Query Engine.

I re-installed the original program (that was using the merge modules) and the required files were put back and everything works fine now.
