Colordialog return html value in Text Box for VB.net

I'm not sure if this post is supposed to be in this area but here it goes. I have this application that is kind of a WYSIWYG application. I'm trying to create a popup colordialog box so the user can select a color, have that colors html value stored in a textbox, then they can click a button to import the value. I have the button working to implement the value into the code area but I can't seem to get the colordialog to spit out an html value like #100010 or #000000 depending on the color that the person selects. I"m building this application in VS. 2005. Any suggestions.

ColorTranslator class, .ToHtml method - it will return hex values or color names when appropriate.

You haven't declared YourColorVar and colorValue variables here. I would think you want to input the color frmo the dialog too.

Looks like you have declared your own ColorTranslator class. I would use the one from .Net framework instead.

That does trick too, but why not use the ColorTranslator.ToHtml function when it's right there in your face for that very purpose like we've been telling you all along? (except perhaps the comment about using an instance on a shared method then..)

change this:

to:

Public NotInheritable Class MyColorTranslator
  Private Sub Normal_Click....

and it'll work, what you did was specify your own color translator class on top of the one that's already provided in the framework since you were using the ColorTranslator class it was using yours and not the one in the framework

giving your classes names that arnt the same as the classes that are already in the framework make for less confusion
