Can not give a name to Web Applications.

I have recently installed VB studio. The main use of it for me is Web Applications part. When I try to create a new project, as soon as I click on "ASP.NET Web Application" template, the name box becomes gray out so I cannot change the name.

Any idea how I can correct this?

Your folder location is a Http address. Http protocol isn't writable. Use a local filesystem folder location.

Aren't I supposed to be able to edit that name? I believe this is a sign of a real problem that may root in some setting of my VB.net

Not for HTTP stuff.. the name is dictated by where you put in on the server. Edit the location and the name will change..
