Best way to develop a website accessing a DB in VB.NET?

I have to design a website that pulls data from a database and displays it can anyone advise me about the best ways to go about the development please?

If you only need to display it I would advise simple XSLT trnasformation using the datasets writexml methods. if you need more complex handling you should have look around on how to write datalayers or datatiers;
