A picture with clickable points

I need to program a system with pictures ( which are loaded from a db ) .

At these pictures people can add markups, like color points, which present machines that are located in that room. These points should could get hyperlinks to another page where you can see info about that specific machine.

anyone has a name or some info about how i can find code relating to this?

You could use PhotoShop or FrontPage to create image maps and code those into your HTML.

You may want to subscribe to www.lynda.com and learn PhotoShop and/or FrontPage. They have online videos for both. FrontPage makes it really easy, read the docs.
