It goes without saying that WPF has had a slow adoption rate for many reasons. How do you feel today (May 2011) about WPF vs. Windows Forms? If you were starting a new project would you go the WPF route? Or are you sticking to Windows Forms for now?

Share your thoughts on WPF vs. Windows Forms and why you choose the project type that you use?

I would go with Windows Forms, but that's mostly because I don't know that much about WPF.

At work since I took over my current position a year and a half ago, I have had to rewrite 4 tools made in c# WPF. I absolutely despise it. WinForms is mature, solid, fast, and even faster to design. In my experience, WPF has been shaky, slow, and a pain in the butt to design. Maybe in a couple of years when it has maturity I will make the switch, in the meantime I see no reason to. Everything I see made in WPF can be done in WinForms.

EDIT: Hmm I just realized that's a year old thread... lol...
