Wierd issue...

It appears that the code you're executing is not the code you're looking at. That would suggest that your build is failing but you're running the old output anyway. Are there any entries in the Errors window? If you build, does it say Succeeded or Failed? If you delete the bin folder, will the project still run?
I put a message box at the end of the problematic If statement and tried again, this time it jumped to that, seemingly not executing the statement just highlighting the last executable in the function...
I'd still like to know why using F10 step over it goes anywhere near that update though... Should I get into the habit of using F11 instead?
I was a little concerned that DB data was going to be deleted whilst it was populating the datagridview which wouldn't have been ideal lets face it!

Shouldn't your conditional with the MsgBox have a "=" instead of a "-" at the end?
