While Loading Values in Dropdownlist box, it take too much time. How to reduce it???

AOA,

I am accessing data from SQL Server and calling valuse in Dropdownlist box. They values are coming in Dropdownlist box but it take much time in loading values because the data from SQL, it contains 200.000 records and sometime it says TimeOut Expired........
How to resolve this problem. Please Advice..
