There are some limitations with the vb.net standard edition, no class/compile to dll. There is a great workaround that unlocks this capability though if you google for it.
Note, regarding SWU's advice, that VB2005 Express and VS2003Deluxe/VB are two totally different products, tied to different versions of the .NET framework. If you choose VS2003 anything, it's .NET 1.1. If you choose VS2005 anything, it's .NET 2.0
