My page was fine all I did was go into the markup code and add some onlick events to buttons and then I saved. The visual web developer window then all of a sudden decides to crash. I open my project back up and my markup code is completely messed up with all this auto generated code. I have hundreds of compiler errors because all of the tags are messed up.
What?! Auto generated code broke my page!

Are you really using .NET framework 1.0 as your profile currently states? If so I would suggest upgrading. 1.0 (i.e. VS2003) is notorious for a buggy markup editor. Many improvements were made VS2005 and VS2008 is even better.
