web browser address bar link?

i created a web browser in vb.net with very few features in it. it contains address bar where we can put address. my questioon is when the web page gets opened in the browser its "ok" the address i.e link gets stored in the database but when user visits the link from the page itself that link is not visible in the address bar? how can i solve this?
