Web Address Name

I have uploaded my web application onto the web server.

Everything works fine, however, my web address (as it's internal) is:

http://182.18.9.24/Staff/Default.aspx

I don't want then to type in the full address, I want the address to be

http://Staff/Default.aspx

How do I set this up? Do I need a DNS entry set up?

The link you posted (the first one) doesnt work and no the second link is not valid
http://Staff/Default.aspx
it should be http://something.some.com
And one more thing you dont need to type default.aspx
so instead of something.some.com/default.aspx u can use just something.some.com/
If U need to display
a shorter address for a long address then just change your dns settings to do so
or try url redirection

AverageAdam, if this is local network (workgroup) then you can add an entry in the 'hosts' file, default path C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\, then http://staff/ will work. ethicalhackers note about default document should be valid, if not you can configure IIS to display 'default.aspx' when a document isn't specified in the request.

Thanks JohnH, I know about configuring IIS for my default page. However, I am unsure about the host page currently the host page has the following information:

127.0.0.1 localhost

Do I need to add

182.18.9.24 Staff.

ethicalhacker metioned changing the dns settings. How do I do this?
