VS security update keeps on installing

I'm having a problem installing the security update for VS 2008, KB952241. It seems that every time I install the update it appears to succeed, but each time I close down my pc the same update gets installed. When I bring the pc back up and go to microsoft's site and look for updates, the same KB952241 update is there. I've reviewed the web and see suggestions to simply ignore the update, but that doesn't seem practical. I tried to do a repair of VS 2008, then install the update again, but that didn't work either.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Does it show as installed in Add/Remove Programs? If so then I'd ignore it. It's more likely the detection process that's faulty rather than the install.

I think its in automatic mode, it update automatically.
