vb.net ebook or tutorial

Hey there peeps. I am new to vb.net and all the .NET stuff.. i was wondering if there is a good ebook or tutorial on vb.net for free or not a lot of bucks out there which :

1. Isn't online
2. Possibly a .pdf , .hlp or .chm
3. A good book which i can buy
4. Not Msdn

I know Msdn is a great source.. but it is not for the complete vb.net beginner. It explains classes and the api etc..

What i need is a book or tutorial which goes from beginner till advanced on vb.net ..

I think deitel's book is fine.. but as it was written in 2001 i was wondering if it was outdated .. ? Or can i still learn from it ?
