using multiple back end service for a single asp.net application

hi all,
iam new to this forum seeking help in using multiple back end services for a single asp.net application.
i.e. my application should work with both oracle and sqlserver databases
i was wondering whether i can make the database selection dynamic.
any help would be appreciated.
