Question upgrading from vb6

i'm new in this forum and vb.net as well...

i need to upgrade this system to vb.net.

there are some coding that i cant translate to vb.net.it as follow:

dim mytext As String
mytext = Data1.Recordset.Fields("Detail")



data1 is from the database. Detail is the field in the database.
can anybody help me please..thanks
